The new 11,000 square foot Katara Suite at Excelsior Hotel Gallia

Set in a luxury hotel in the heart of Milan, Italy’s largest penthouse suite is fit for a fashion mogul, supermodel or top footballer.

The new 11,000 square foot Katara Suite at Excelsior Hotel Gallia – recently named the best suite in the world – boasts a private spa for its guests and two outdoor terraces where they can take in stunning views of the city.

Priced from €20,000 (£15,000 or $21,800) a night, the four-bedroom retreat has enough space for eight guests and is loaded with extravagant amenities and furnishings from Italian designers.

It is one of the most exclusive retreats in Europe, with a private pagoda spa that features a hot tub under a dome, a Turkish bath and sauna.

Guests who need fresh air have two private terraces to choose from – one with a stunning dining area and the other with a solarium.

The terrace space includes Fendi Casa sunloungers, a barbecue and panoramic views of Milan.

Situated on Excelsior Hotel Gallia’s top floor, the Katara Suite boasts the best in Italian design.

In addition to Fendi Casa furnishings, it has one-of-a-kind pieces from Poltrona Frau, Flos table lamps and Murano chandeliers.

A kitchenette is furnished with Limoges porcelain and French crystal, and there is a tabletop football game.

For those who need to do some business, the suite has its own private meeting room and private entrance.
